MATCHDAY
Preview

Hi Everyone

This is such a busy time for the Premier League and the matches come thick and fast so without further ado, let's take a look at the fixtures for Premier League Matchday 18.

The first game actually takes place on Thursday night when Crystal Palace take on Brighton at Selhurst Park. I'm going for a narrow 2-1 win to the mightily impressive Brighton.

Talking of mightily impressive teams, on Friday night we have Aston Villa v Sheffield United. Villa really have been a revelation this season and despite my predicting a potential top four finish for the Villans before the season started, I didn't expect them to be so close to the top of the table at this stage of the season. Sheffield United have their new manager back at the helm and although I think he will slowly turn them around, I just can't see them laying a glove on Villa this weekend. I'm going for a comfortable 3-0 win to Unai Emery's men in this one.

On Saturday, in the early kick off we have West Ham United v Manchester United. Manchester United will have been buoyed by their point at Anfield last weekend although the result was much better than the performance and as a result I fancy West Ham to secure all three points here with a 2-1 home win.

In the three o'clock kick offs I am going for Tottenham Hotspur to beat Everton 3-2; Nottingham Forest to beat Bournemouth 2-1; Fulham to beat Burnley 2-0 and Newcastle United to win away at Luton Town 2-1

The other match scheduled for three o'clock was Manchester City v Brentford but with City currently away in Saudi Arabia competing in the Club World Cup, the game has had to be postponed.

The big match of the weekend undoubtedly takes place at Anfield in the 5.30pm kick on Saturday. Given their current positions in the table, this is a game that neither team will want to lose so I'm expecting a slightly cagey affair rather than the gung-ho style of football we're used to seeing from both sides. If that does turn out to be the way they play, then I'm going for honours even with 1 -1 draw when the final whistle blows.

Just the one game on Sunday and that takes place at Molineux with Wolves taking on Chelsea in the 1pm kick off. A difficult game to call here as both teams are struggling for consistency so in the end I've decided to sit on the fence and go for a 1-1 draw!

Accumulator:

For my Accumulator this week I'm going for a nice and steady four match effort. These are:

Aston Villa to beat Sheffield United at Villa Park; Spurs to beat Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Fulham to beat Burnley at Craven Cottage and Newcastle United to beat Luton Town away at Kenilworth Road.

BetBuilder:

I have decided to focus on Aston Villa versus Sheffield United for my BetBuilder effort this weekend.

I'm predicting a 3-0 win to Villa so I'm going with:

Villa to win to nil

Ollie Watkins to score at anytime

Villa to win both halves
